We offer 6 levels of Combat Sambo certification:

• Razryad IV* - Razryad means "Level or Rank" in Russian.
• Razryad III*
• Razryad II
• Razryad I*
• Assistant Instructor
• Instructor

The requirements represent the minimum acceptable level of skill necessary to progress in the training as a member of the American Combat Sambo Academy. Razryad IV is available by distance learning/correspondence. A member in good standing may petition to test for Razryad III via distance learning/correspondence if that member meets eligibility requirements. All written requirements must be turned in with the testing fee and your membership must be current for any level of testing.

Razryad II and I are open to active members and testing can only occur with at least two full instructors present or one chief instructor. Razryad II and I eligibility for testing is available to members by petition to the chief instructor. Assistant instructor and instructor ranking is by appointment only after extensive training with a full instructor.

For these levels every training session with a full instructor is a test. Testing fees are one time only investments for each level so that if you do not pass you are not assessed an additional testing fee. No refunds will be issued if a member withdraws from the testing process. Combat Sambist in good standing may request specific requirements for the rank they would be eligible for.

Nothing is guaranteed therefore if you don't meet the requirements or pass the test, don't whine or complain, work harder.

* Passing Razryad IV allows you to represent yourself as a Group Training Leader for the American Sambo Academy.

* Passing Razryad III allows you to represent yourself as a Street Sambo Coach for the American Sambo Academy.

* Passing Razryad I allows you to represent yourself as a Combat Sambo Coach for the American Sambo Academy.
